RBVLL Fall Ball FAQs
Overview:
Rancho Buena Vista Little League offers baseball programs for youth league ages 4 - 13 with seven divisions in all ranging from T-Ball to Intermediate.
Division age brackets are determined by Little League "League Age", which for the Fall 2026 year is the age your child will be on August 31, 2027 (Spring 2027 League Age).
For the Fall Season, everything is a lot less formal than Spring. You can expect 1-2 weeknight practices (depending on division) and one game per week, typically Fridays and Saturdays. We are not able to accommodate specific requests for practices or games.
Typically, games and practices are held at Optimist fields 600-3/4 Optimist Way, Vista, CA 92081.
There are no player assessments and you do not need to live or go to school within our league's boundaries to register. Players are able to request buddies and managers during registration for all divisions.
As we consider it a strictly developmental season, scores of games during the Fall Season are not kept and the division played in Fall does not relate to division played in Spring (i.e. a league age 10-year-old may play in Majors in the Fall, but this does not mean they will automatically be drafted to Majors in the Spring).
Registration/Waitlist:
Registration fees vary by division and will be published on the registration page. Fees are due at the time of enrollment, and only credit or debit cards are accepted. Confirmation of enrollment and receipt of payment are automatically sent by email. If you do not receive confirmation, log back in to your Member Account to check the registration status.
Registration will be open until we reach our registration closing date or league capacity (whichever comes first). At that time, a waitlist will begin.
Players on the wait-list will be contacted if an opening occurs. Late registrations are subject to space availability in your child's age group.
We recommend signing up early, as spots are limited by field availability, For additional information on the waitlist, please see our Player Placement Policy.

T-Ball (League Age 4-6*)
For players league age 4 - 6* who are brand new to the game, our T-Ball division provides a basic introduction to how baseball is played. The focus is on teaching rudimentary concepts, such as the elements of the field (home plate, bases, infield, outfield, etc.) as well as proper techniques for hitting, running the bases, fielding, and throwing.
Every player bats in each inning, and there are no outs. The dimensions of T-Ball are smaller than a standard Little League field with distances between bases at just 45 feet.

T-Ball games are typically played on Saturdays and can start as early as 8:30am and end as late as 4pm.
*Note: We recommend that League Age 6-year-olds play Single A unless they have never played a sport before.
Single A (League Age 5*-7)
For players league age 5* - 7, the Single A division utilizes a pitching machine. Regardless of the number of players on the team, no one will spend a defensive inning on the bench. Each inning lasts until the earlier of three outs are made or every player in the lineup getting a turn to bat. There are no strikeouts or walks, but each batter is limited to five pitches from the machine per at-bat.

During the first three innings of each game, a pitching machine is used with the same five-pitch limit as in Single A. Starting in the fourth inning, the machine goes away and the kids pitch. There are strikeouts, but no walks. If the count on a hitter reaches four balls, the hitting team's coach will come out and throw the batter a maximum of three additional pitches. Each team fields 10 defensive players. Teams.
AA practices 2 days per week and practices can start as early as 4pm and end as late as 9pm.
Games can be scheduled weekdays or Saturdays and end as late as 9pm.
*Note: We recommend that all 10-year-olds play in AAA unless they have never played baseball or any other sport before.
AAA (League Age 9-11)
For players age 9 - 11, the AAA division is all kid pitch, umpires call all games, each team fields nine defensive players, and base runners may attempt to advance (or steal) as soon as a pitched ball reaches the hitter. Players are guaranteed to play at least six outs in the field in games that last four innings, and nine outs in games that go longer.
During the Fall season, an inning ends with the earlier of three outs made or one time through the entire lineup.
